As we all know the world of paranormal phenomena has more than it's fair share of doubters. There are skeptics who will examine the evidence presented and reach a conclusion using rational thought, common sense and logic. These skeptics do not present a problem because they provide a healthy balance in helping us to determine the existence of paranormal phenomena. They provide a useful check to prevent us from getting carried away in our enthusiasm for all things paranormal. Good skeptics enjoy the challenge of disproving a theory. Bad skeptics just like the sound of their own voice. Spotting a fake: The bad skeptics are easy to spot because they dismiss every piece of evidence out of hand before they even examine it. Bad skeptics quite often have little desire or the intelect to reach a reasoned conclusion and tend to jump on the nearest bandwagon available to hide among others of their kind. Common thoughtless phrases used by bad skeptics include: - "It is not a spirit" rather than "the evidence is not conclusive"
- "ghosts do not exist" rather than "I have conclusive proof that ghosts do not exist"
- "what a load of crap" rather than "I am not convinced but I don't have the skills to express myself"
Bad skeptics will keep asking you for proof that a spirit world exists but will do nothing to prove that the spirit world does not exist, it's too much like hard work for them, remember, they are talkers, not do'ers Bad skeptics give good skeptics a bad name, their input is usually of very little worth Any skeptic who acknowledges a god but denies the possibilty of a spirtual world is nothing more than a hypocrite. |
