NPG would like to thank Sarah for submitting this touching story of the loss of a very close friend who later called in to jog her memory

"the next song came on as I put the glass down and it moved across the table. I looked at my partner and his face was white"

On the 8th September my good friend Dave died in a motorbike accident. I went to call him as I hadn't seen him for a while and as I picked up the phone it rang - my mum calling to tell me the news. My partner and I were very close to him, he was like family. I had a few morbid conversations with Dave in the past and he told me how he wanted to die, the music that should play and that he wanted to be cremated. He always said that it would be on his beloved bike - and it was. I remembered everything apart from one of the songs and it really annoyed me that I couldn't remember. The next day my partner and I were crying and were listening to an album that reminded me of him - I had a glass of wine and took a sip - the next song came on as I put the glass down and it moved across the table. I looked at my partner and his face was white. I asked if he just saw what I did, and he nodded. Then I recognised the song and laughed, it was what Dave wanted to be played at his funeral. I stopped crying and we just sat there laughing. I swear on my life, and so does my partner that it happened.
